As some of you may, or many not know, I work at Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG). This will be my third summer working for RBG (the first two summers were spent as a student gardener). This summer, I was hired on to work with Special Events and Communications departments during the busy summer months.
Ask any of my friends, and they will tell you how much I rant and rave about RBG. I love talking about how beautiful the gardens are, the new work that is being done to improve the main centre, and the great times I spent gardening the past two years.
Over the past month, everyone here has been working extremely hard as the opening of the RBG’s new summer/fall exhibit, Earth Art was opening (grand opening, July 17, public opening, July 18). Artists from around the world arrived and quickly began creating their pieces. All the artists were scattered around the garden areas and RBG property, so finding them became quite an adventure.
I was assigned the task of creating a photo blog of all the artists’ work in progress (you can check out the site here). I had so much fun walking (and driving) around to all the different artist locations, and chatting with the artists themselves. A few times a week, I would go out into “the field” to photogrph the progressing pieces, then it was off to upload them onto the site.
So now that the Earth Art Exhibit is officially open, I extend an invitation to everybody reading this. If you want to know more about the exhibit, you know how to get in touch with me. You can also check out Royal Botanical Gardens’ official website for more information about the Earth Art Exhibition.

Those types of openings are exhausting. I helped open the California ScienCenter in LA. Mucho work.
